Ezilon review

Ezilon is surprising at first view. A simple Google search reveals a lot of subdomains and sections. It seems that this directory has different sections for each region – that’s why is named “REGIONAL”. What is disappointing is that i.e. the Indian directory has other design than the Uk directory. Its like not all the sections are updated to the latest template.  The main site seems to be focused on Europe.

Other interesting thing, this site provides a special toolbar. Too bad is not so useful, I only see PR and Alexa that might have some importance to some webmasters.

The cost of listing a site is very high, IMO. Between choosing a $70 yearly recurring or a $200 one time fee, I’ve chosen not to list my site with Ezilon, as my budget is pretty low. There are also some other advertising options this site provides, but I didn’t quite understand the process.

What I don’t like is the games section. What do flash games have in common with a webmaster targeted site (this didn’t stop me from playing “Whack Your Boss” though )? More than this, Ezilon is offering any webmaster the opportunity of buying links in this section. A, A, A, would Matt Cuts and the rest of Google team say.

Still, a lot of news in every category (RSS from some sources which are not listed), and also a lot of sites (just wondering, all of them paid that much upon submission???).

The urls are SE friendly, 35 sites per page (not so great this), the details pages exist and it’s very simple and Adsense oriented (maybe that’s why M.C. and big G are pleased).

Good points: Has authority, and good pr, age and category structure.

Bad points: Number of listings (very crowded), price (very expensive), design and site structure (not solid), other unrelated and low quality sections.

Recommendations: For me, not worth it. But for a good site with a large budget, it may bring a good seo plus.
